Hearing Test

Last Monday (1/2/06) I took Camryn for a hearing test. I have been concerned for a while that she has not been pronouncing words correctly. I mentioned this to her pediatrician at her 3 year appointment and she set up the hearing test to rule out any problems.

It turns out she has a problem. She has minor hearing loss due to fluid in her ears. She is not acting sick at all! So now what to do. My pediatrician was out of the office until this Wed the 11th. So we have been waiting. I want to go in and talk to her face to face and see what she thinks.

The audiologist wants to see her again after the fluid was treated. However, as of today she is not on any meds besides OTC cough medicine. It seems there is not much they can do to take care of the ears if she is not acting sick...... the audiologist said that we made the right call and to not let this slide too long...like months and months.

I can't wait until Wednesday to take her in. I just want my baby to speak better this year!!!!

I need to call the Mesa Public Schools to set up a speech evaluation. I better get going on this today.
