Project 64: Raw Sienna

I loved the color variations of the brick on this old house.
The colors were a pretty good match for Raw Sienna I thought.

I was driving around downtown while my girls were in their ceramics class.



Project 64: Wisteria

It is the last day to post and I have had problems finding this color.  Mainly, because it is so dang hot and dry and HOT these days in AZ.  Every year my creativity and enthusiam goes down to nil in July and August.  I was doubting myself about finishing the project until my good friend reminded me that I am this way every year and not to over analyze myself. 

So I found this little pony to photograph.  My girls loved these a few years ago...but she is one of the last we have in our house.  It is sad to see the toys disappear.  They do love other types of horses though and we have a bunch of Breyer ones around, plus littlest petshop animals too.

Project 64: Macaroni & Cheese

I personally love eating Mac and Cheese but having it as a color this week kind of made me crazy.

I kept seeing orange items....but the softer orange yellow color was harder to find.

I think it is here in the fountains my girls were playing in.

I totally tripped over this one as I was snapping photos of them playing and noticed the color

was pretty close to what I needed this week when I got home and looked at them on the computer.



Project 64: Sea Green

AZ had a huge dust storm this past week and everything is covered by brown dust.

I was not sure how or where I would find this color.

The girls had an art class this morning and as I was waiting for them I found this glass wall and cactus display at the Mes@ Arts Center.  The way the glass was glowing was the perfect color that I needed for this week.
I quickly took the picture and ran to my air conditioned car....it's just too hot to hang outside.



Project 64: Red

The girls and I have been doing some crafts.

These little paints are so fun and perfect for my red this week.

Project 64: Goldenrod

I have been wanting to photograph a sunset for a while now.

Friday night after dinner we headed to local park to walk around the lake.

This was one of my favorites I took that night and it works for the color this week...bonus!

This is week 25!



Project 64: Olive Green

There are many shades of green, and olive green is kind of tricky.

I think I found it in these frog statues on downtown main street.

This is color #24...only 40 more to go!



Project 64: Timberwolf

Wow...we are at week 23....Timberwolf!

I thought the repetition of the power poles was a good color match.

They just finished a really nice bike path here along the canals by our house.

We love to ride our bikes down here. 

Even though it is hot these days we are still planning on riding again soon.

Isn't she sweet.  She was posing for me...love her reflection to in the water.
(ok..so may she wanted me to feed her...did not bring anything with me...oops!)
No timberwolf in this one...just thought is was fun.

Project 64: Salmon

My girls received this globe for Christmas.

It is so cool...you use a stylus pen that comes with it and it gives you all kinds of facts about the different countries and peoples, even music samples. 
Guess what...I even have played with it while they are not home. 
Australia...is Salmon and I think a few other countries have the shade too.

 

Project 64: Yellow Orange

School got out this week!

My girls rode the yellow orange school bus every day.

Kudos to all the bus drivers out there who carry precious cargo safely every day!

Project 64: Asparagus

We have a little barnowl living in our palm tree in the backyard.  The girls and I have seen it leave on its hunting trips in the twilight evenings several days now.  Today...he was hanging out in the daylight and I was able to capture some photos of him.  (we looked him up on the internet and identified him).

He looks like he has had a few bumps and scratches but is doing pretty well in our tree.

I think the palm fronds matched my color this week too...bonus.



Project 64: Cerulean

I have been kind of blaw lately about taking photos.  I had many instances of finding the right color but just could not get a decent photo.  I was so tempted to go back into my archives to find the color and a much more artistic one at that.  But....I really wanted the photos for this project to be ones I took specifically for this project.  So, I have my girls riding thier new bikes with their bright helmets...one of which is cerulean.  I am hoping my creativity will be coming back very soon.  I miss it.

Project 64: Tumbleweed

I snapped this guy and thought he was the perfect color for Tumbleweed this week.

These ponies were very well cared for. 

My husband had a long chat with the owner while the girls were riding.  They live here locally.

If only we lived somewhere with land...my girls would love to own a pony or horse of their own.

Project 64: Red Violet

On the way to the bus stop I saw these snapdragons and knew my color for this week was in there.

It was hard because this color is so close to magenta in many ways...but not.

Many things I thought were red violet turned out to be magenta instead.

I loved how the morning sun was shining on this little patch of loveliness.



Project 64: Pacific Blue

I can still picture the day my girls each made one of these beaded necklaces.

They were 4 years old and at a friends birthday party.

Somehow even 4 years later these necklaces are still in our house.

They get misplaced, stuck under beds or on stuffed animals...but they never get thrown away.

I found this one on the back of the bathroom door and spied my color for the week.

Project 64: Magenta

I only own a point and shoot...no camera on my phone either.

I found these lovely lily pads last week....they are a bit mysterious to look at.

I always wonder how they thrive in the water.

Project 64: Burnt Sienna

Burnt Sienna was a bit of a tricky color this week.  I totally thought I had this color in the bag and knew exactly what I was going to take pictures of.  However, once coloring with the actual crayon I discovered my object is mahogany.....so I am saving it for when that color pops up this year.  This tortoise does have many shades and burnt sienna is one of them.  My girls thought he was pretty cool too when we discovered him on a garden tour.

Project 64: Spring Green

If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.  ~Nadine Stair

We live in AZ and our spring is like summer every where else in North America.  The heat is coming on here soon and all our flowers are going to wither away.  We put on shorts and run barefoot as early as possible here. 

Project 64: Tickle Me Pink

It't that time of year....bunnies and chicks abound in the stores.

This was a huge bunny and was so cute I could not resist taking a pic.

My girls hope he finds a wonderful home for Easter.

Project 64: Scarlet

The light inside the Amococo Luminarium is totally amazing.

This is an international exhibit which was here in AZ for a week.

It was liking walking in space, it is ethereal, and soothing.

If you ever have the chance to visit....do it you will not be disappointed.
