A year ago today Luis' mom was in the hospital. She had several complications and passed away on September 13th. I am going to take the girls to see their Abuela's gravesite on Tuesday.
I did not know her very well as she spoke mainly Spanish and I of course spoke hardly any. She was in fairly good health when I first met her in 1998 right before Luis and I became engaged. She suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis and was not very mobile. She hardly ever left her home towards the end. The photos they used on her memorial cards were from our wedding.
I am so glad that we have pictures of her with the girls. They will never remember her like they will my mom.
