Crazy Week

A week ago Wednesday my mom went in for a routine colonoscopy. It turns out she had alot of scar tissue. While the dr. was trying to bypass this area he perforated her colon. She was woken up and told what happended and then sent in for surgery.

It was crazy around here for us. I had a friend watch the girls one morning while I stayed with my mom. Luis ended up having the weekend off and took care of the girls while I was going back and forth to the hospital. It was very exhausting especially the first few days as the drugs really affected my mom and made her loopy. She was totally out of it for almost 3 days.

Fortunately, she did get better and was released from the hospital 7 days later on Wednesday. She is much happier at home.

The girls reacted as typical toddler/preschoolers and their behavior totally escalated. They were not happy to be out of their routine. Both of them at one point were picking on each other and teasing each other and then the next second they were best friends again. It was difficult to tell how they were going to be if we took them anywhere. Thankfully, they are getting back to normal again.

Thanks to all my friends for your kind words and prayers for our family. You will never know how much you impacted us.
