No new pets for a long time! We have one cat right now and the girls manage to pull his tail and torture him. He can get away from them while the fish couldn't.
Interestingly enough, the girls do not even miss him. The tank is drained and empty and they have not even touched it once I told them the fish died! They did ask about getting another fish, but I just can't right now. I would not want anything to happen to it.

I think that is the best choice. It is hard for our children to be gentle. You will know when you are ready to handle it again!
